Abstract
This paper analyzes the three dimensions of time,space and culture in Zhang Ling's novel Gold Mountain Blues,with a view to that Zhang Ling applied the writing strategy of depicting the diasporic identity which generated from the blending of the past and the present,the native land and the other land,as well as an inheriting yet changing,hybrid culture.This strategy reveals Zhang Ling's writing pursuit of constructing a hybrid,worldwide identity to overcome the awkward situation of being either Chinese or Canadian or neither Chinese nor Canadian
