Abstract
S’accommodant mal de l’idée d’un « éclatement du social », l’auteur cherche à reconstituer la genèse québécoise de la vision d’une crise de l’État providence. Après avoir interrogé cette perspective, l’article s’oriente vers l’analyse des transformations qui marquent le secteur social pour mettre en évidence la recomposition en train de s’y opérer. Cette recomposition émerge notamment de la prolifération de groupes communautaires qui posent la question de l’articulation entre des pratiques sociales autonomes et les services étatiques. C’est ainsi que le social se recomposerait à la manière de ce que plusieurs appellent le « Welfare Mix ».
