He is a senior lecturer and coordinator of the Chinese Program at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. His research interest covers classical Chinese poetry, classical Chinese painting, contemporary art and art theory, as well as art history and comparative literature. He has published more than ten books on literature and art. As an essayist, he has also published collection of art reviews and travel journal.
