Le statut de la recherche-action n’est pas véritablement reconnu par les collèges et universités du Québec dès que se posent les problèmes concrets de son fonctionnement. Les auteurs ont participé depuis dix ans à la mobilisation des agriculteurs expropriés par l’implantation du nouvel aéroport international de Montréal. Comme chercheurs, ils ont été amenés à vivre un revirement épistémologique majeur à travers les actions qu’ils ont produites avec les expropriés, en particulier en ce qui concerne la notion de propriété privée. À partir de cet exemple de recherche-action, les auteurs développent leur interrogation initiale sur l’articulation des pratiques de recherche-action et leur insertion institutionnelle et esquissent des pistes d’action.
