Abstract
Toronto, principale ville du Canada et pôle régional influent est également capitale de la Province de l’Ontario. La Province a toujours entretenu des relations ambivalentes avec sa capitale, tendant à limiter ses pouvoirs ou à restreindre son autonomie. Fondée sur une étude de terrain et de nombreux entretiens, cet article vise ainsi à montrer comment Toronto peine à articuler son statut administratif et sa stature économique et sociale.
