Abstract
La recherche présentée ici explore les diverses manières dont la migration et le changement religieux sont compris et construits par des femmes musulmanes d’origine ouest-africaine vivant dans la région de Montréal au Canada. La dynamique de migration et de changement religieux, ainsi que la conception de l’identité religieuse dans un contexte canadien de migration sont analysées à partir de récits de vie, d’observations participantes et d’entretiens, données issues d’un terrain ethnographique conduit entre 2008 et 2010. L'approche retenue par l’auteure considère que les récits rendent compte du sens donné par les acteurs à leur expérience migratoire et à son impact sur leur identité islamique. Elle montre ainsi que la relocalisation de l’islam a lieu tant sur le plan physique, que sur le plan narratif.
