INTRODUCTION In many postindustrial societies, concern has risen over a growing alienation and disengagement from political processes and institutions, especially among youth. This lack of political engagement and participation raises the question whether and how young people can be educated in a way that engages them politically and that increases the chances that they will remain politically engaged.
