Abstract
Cet article porte sur le processus de construction identitaire des jeunes issus de l’immigration à Montréal (N = 37) au fil de leurs transitions scolaires, du primaire jusqu’à l’université. L’analyse d’entretiens biographiques, menée à partir d’un cadre théorique constructiviste, montre qu’une frontière vive se construit au secondaire entre « francophones québécois » et « jeunes issus de l’immigration ». Or, lors de l’expérience du postsecondaire, les jeunes revisitent cette frontière et envisagent de nouvelles appartenances. Les données révèlent que les parcours identitaires au postsecondaire s’articulent différemment selon le secteur linguistique (université francophone ou anglophone) fréquenté par le jeune. En conclusion, des pistes de recherche et d’intervention sont envisagées.
