Abstract
El presente estudio se propone examinar en forma comparativa, la noción de ciencia política, derivada tanto de la Metafísica aristotélica y neo-platónica de Tomas de Aquino, como de la Metafísica de la sustancia única, elaborada por B. Espinosa. El estudio pone en evidencia la estructura de la ciencia política toda vez que la misma se integra, ya sea en el interior de una Metafísica de la sustancia participada y de la analogía del ser, o bien, en el caso de espinosa, como de una Metafísica puramente racional en la cual no tienen lugar ni el concepto de participación ni su correlato lógico, el concepto de analogía del ser. La argumentación se propone subrayar el modo en que la Metafísica espinosiana da por resultado una ciencia política que es el fundamento teórico del totalitarismo en virtud del cual el Estado, como orden político, se atribuye la regulación de las creencias religiosas.
