Abstract
This Paper presents a 4×4 subarray dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with capability of circular polarization for millimeter wave applications. By the 4×4 subarray DRA proposed, the bandwidth of circular polarization (CP) and gain of the DRA has been increased as compared with primary 2×2 subarray DRA. The basic antenna consists of an aperture coupled DRA. In addition, in order to obtain CP bandwidth, an X-shaped slot is etched off the ground plane. The elements are arranged in a 4×4 subarray structure and also are excited sequentially in a parallel feeding.
