Abstract
Ogni uomo e predisposto ad accogliere l’annuncio di Cristo a motivo della comune natura umana. Tale desiderio conduce alla scoperta della propria individualita irripetibile. La conversione, come «opzione fondamentale per Dio», non nasce, dunque, dal nulla, ma e radicata nell’uomo. Nel Vangelo di Matteo, il dinamismo dell’accoglienza di Cristo da parte dell’uomo viene espresso anche mediante l’impiego del simbolo della luce. La luce rappresenta l’identita dell’uomo, «immagine» di Dio, posto tra la tenebra e il desiderio di Infinito, e simboleggia la capacita di accogliere, elaborare, ed esprimere l’esperienza di Dio. La luce esprime anche la realta di Cristo: Principio organizzativo centrale dell’uomo. Venendo a contatto con la Luce di Cristo, la persona accede a un livello di astrazione talmente elevato che la realta viene percepita come una soggettivita con la quale entrare in relazione. Questo conduce all’amore.
