Abstract

Cet article présente une analyse du savoir anthropologique dans le Brésil contemporain à partir de la description des formes particulières de savoir et des styles anthropologiques qui ont construit l’ethnographie et ses objets privilégiés à certains moments historiques dans notre pays. Nous nous référons tout d’abord aux contextes politiques et socioculturels au sein desquels, entre la fin du XIXe siècle et 1930, s’est développée une production qui présente une réflexion sur la construction de la société brésilienne. Ensuite, nous décrivons les processus d’institutionnalisation de l’anthropologie, de 1940 jusqu’à son développement contemporain. Au terme de cet article, nous présentons le problème des rapports institutionnels et des pouvoir sous-jacents au savoir ethnographique, qui configurent ses limites et ses possibilités au Brésil.
