Google est devenue en quelques années une entreprise majeure des industries de la culture, de l’information et de la communication à une échelle internationale. Dans ce texte, nous proposons de mettre l’accent sur la dimension intrusive des stratégies de développement de l’entreprise. Pour ce faire, nous étudierons ces stratégies dans un premier temps et nous verrons quelles oppositions celles-ci ont suscité de la part de composantes de la « société civile ». Ce sera alors l’occasion de constater que les critiques ne visent pas à contester le modèle même de développement de Google. Nous verrons justement dans un deuxième temps combien la dimension intrusive des stratégies de Google témoigne des nouvelles formes prises par le capitalisme.
