Abstract
Developed construction industry is the basis of prosperity of the country as a whole and particular city in particular. An important role in the training of young builders relies on the training institutions, which, even replacing each other on the city map, retain and develop the traditions of engineering and construction education. The knowledge of the history of the first technical institution of building structure in our city will significantly influence the formation of civic and patriotic position of young engineers of building industry. Analysis of the research. Тhe history of higher polytechnic education in Ukraine of the first quarter of the twentieth century rather thoroughly was investigated in the works of V. Onopriyenko, V. Tarasov, A. Woroch, C. Choir,Hovrych, I. Fedosova and others. Specifically I. Fedosova considered features of formation of student contingent in the technical universities in the period which is considered and analyzed the source and status of research of the history of higher technical education in Ukraine. The formation of higher technical education in Katerynoslav was considered in the works of G. Shvyd’ko, V. Starostin, V. Savchuk, A. Bystryakov and V. Bolshakov. The purpose of the article is analysis of the development of higher building and architectural education in Katerynoslav (Dnipropetrovsk) during the XX XXI century. Conclusion. The tradition of training of highly qualified engineering and architecture specialist inthe city has already a hundred years, and Prydniprovs’ka State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture concentrating all the achievements of its predecessors, absorbed throughout history research and development of talented architects, builders and engineers of the construction industry of the city, confidently looks into the future.
