Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Actual performance data were developed on two laboratory stress-grading machines differing only in support conditions for comparison with theoretical predictions from a finite element model developed previously.Performance was assessed on the basis of the ability of the grading machines to measure modulus of elasticity on lumber containing natural bow and one ideal defect (notch).Theory and observation were in good agreement in showing that performance ofgrading machines is dependent on support conditions, especially regarding their ability to identify zones of lower stiffness along the lumber.Practical implications of the results on future machine stress-rating procedures are discussed.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
