L'A. propose un nouveau modele permettant de decrire le mouvement en termes de verification et montre comment une procedure d'acquisition basee sur un tel modele permet a un enfant d'apprendre l'ordre des mots propre a une langue. Dans le cadre du programme minimaliste de Chomsky, il remplace la distinction faible/fort par un processus de connexion de l'information dans le lexique. Il explique ainsi que les traits abstraits qui guident la procedure de verification peuvent etre relies a differents elements dans differentes langues. A partir de donnees sur l'accord du completiviseur, il montre que plus d'un affixe d'accord peut exister dans une proposition simple. Il conclut que c'est le role du dispositif d'acquisition du langage de reconnaitre l'existence de ces traits abstraits dans une proposition donnee en entree et de relier ces traits a l'affixe correspondant dans le lexique
