Abstract
Depuis les années soixante, le Canada fait appel à des travailleurs migrants temporaires. Ceux-ci viennent pour une période précise après avoir signé un contrat d'embauche avec un employeur canadien. Ils n'ont pas le droit de faire venir leur famille et doivent obligatoirement repartir à la fin de leur contrat. Initialement réservé au secteur agricole, ce programme a ensuite été mis en œuvre dans le domaine du travail domestique. Des travailleurs hautement qualifiés (principalement dans le secteur des technologies de pointe) commencent également à être recrutés sur cette base.
