Abstract
Les indices tels que le rythme, l’accentuation, la mélodie et le niveau de langue participent à la caractérisation du locuteur. Ainsi, les résultats de cette étude comparative d’un discours politique imité par trois imitateurs, montrent que Jacques Chirac insère davantage d’accentuations et de contrastes mélodiques et s’exprime dans un registre plus soutenu que les imitateurs (voix naturelles). Par contre, les imitations présentent davantage d’accentuations expressives et le rythme d’élocution est plus haché qu’en lecture « naturelle ». De plus, chaque imitateur adapte sa hauteur de voix, de même que les variations mélodiques. Enfin, les imitateurs rehaussent leur niveau de langue en prononçant davantage d’éléments facultatifs tels que les « e » et les liaisons.
