Abstract
Presents results from qualitative focus groups with rural educators concerning information needs of sexual and gender minority (SGM) students. Observations on messaging in the physical environment, curricular materials, and internet filtering are provided. The findings document the importance of schools being responsive to, and accountable for, SGM students’ information needs.Cette étude présente les résultats de groupes de discussion qualitatifs avec des éducateurs en milieu rural concernant les besoins d'information des étudiants appartenant aux minorités sexuelles et transgenre. On y trouvera des observations sur la messagerie dans l'environnement physique, sur le matériel pédagogique, et sur le filtrage d'Internet. Les résultats soulignent et justifient l'importance pour les écoles de se montrer sensibles aux besoins en information de ces minorités et de se considérer responsables de subvenir à leurs besoins.
