Abstract
Dans une perspective comparative, l’auteure présente des énoncés de mission, des buts et des objectifs de la bibliothèque/centre d’information en milieu scolaire (BCI) selon six textes de base, à savoir, d’une part : les lignes directrices internationales (1990), américaines (1988) et anglaises (1992) et, d’autre part, les éléments correspondants de trois textes québécois (1987, 1989, 1991). Elle met l’accent sur le potentiel de la BCI comme ajoutant de la valeur aux activités d’apprentissage et d’enseignement et comme source possible d’innovation. Enfin, elle identifie deux facteurs essentiels de réussite : des ressources humaines adéquatement formées, de même que l’intégration des dimensions identifiées dans les formations initiale, continue et de recyclage des enseignantes et enseignants.
