The Development of Lightweight, Ambient Air Breathing, Tubular PEM Fuel Cell
Bibliographic record
Abstract
A new, low cost, simple to construct tubular, proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) was developed to work in still or slowly moving air. The tubular geometry is important, because it enables optimum air access to the cathode without the need for pumps, fans or similar devices. In developing the fuel cell, special attention was paid to the choice of materials and the evolution of the design. In choosing the material 316 stainless tubes, with etched stainless steel foil wrap, have been found to offer better performance than fuel cells with nickel foil-wrapped Tufnol{sup R} tubes. By using acid etched foils, the hole size, distribution and shape can be dictated. This has shown to have beneficial effects on electrical performance. The cells are lightweight, low cost, easy to construct, run without parasitic loads and are silent, operating dead-ended for extended periods. Power densities of the developed fuel cell are in excess of 120 Wkg{sub 1}, and the cell is capable of working for extended periods of time at maximum power. 13 refs., 12 figs.

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
