Des services documentaires adaptés aux personnes handicapées à l’Université de Montréal

Abstract
Les étudiants handicapés s’inscrivent en nombre sans cesse croissant à l’Université de Montréal. L’exploitation de la documentation étant au coeur de la formation universitaire, des services documentaires adaptés sont offerts à tous les étudiants handicapés. De tels services se développent dans le cadre des bibliothèques selon un concept d’intégration des fonctions de lecture et d’écriture, deux activités qui sont pratiquées de manière indissociable par les étudiants dans les bibliothèques universitaires. Un local doté d’équipements issus de technologies récentes a été aménagé à la Bibliothèque des lettres et des sciences humaines. On constate toutefois que le succès des services adaptés auprès des étudiants tient principalement à l’action du personnel qui leur est exclusivement consacré et à une approche humaine et personnalisée.
