Descrivere i rapporti tra moda e design è una sfida per la ricerca, così come tentare di comprendere quanto sia vivace e produttivo il loro legame è il filo conduttore di questo libro, che affronta la complessità del rapporto tra moda e design sia dal punto di vista teorico che da quello progettuale raccogliendo anche le testimonianze dei designer e degli stilisti (Adelaide Acerbi Astori, Enzo Biffi Gentili, Ennio Capasa, Antonio Citterio, Franco Cologni, Riccardo Dalisi, Alberta Ferretti, Alessandro Guerriero, Federico Marchetti, Alberto Meda, Roberto Menichetti, Luca Missoni, Fabio Novembre, Marco Romanelli, Augusto Romano, Franca Sozzani, Luca Stoppini, Giorgio Vigna). Ne emerge un intenso intreccio di relazioni e di rimandi, un coro polifonico da cui si dipanano i numeri significativi del prodotto interno lordo italiano.
