Abstract
La tuberculosis pulmonar es una enfermedad asociada con la pobreza, y las personas pertenecientes a grupos indigenas tienen mayor probabilidad de padecerla. Asimismo, las mujeres enfrentan limitaciones de genero para tener un diagnostico oportuno de esta enfermedad. Este trabajo explora las decisiones que hombres y mujeres de ocho localidades de la Sierra Santa Marta, Veracruz, toman para confirmar o descartar tuberculosis pulmonar. Se concluye que la cobertura de servicios de salud no es suficiente para garantizar el diagnostico de esta enfermedad, puesto que la apropiacion del espacio y el acceso a los servicios de salud son diferenciados por genero.
