Einmal bekam ich mit, wie ein Schüler Viola nach ihrem Alter fragte. Mit blitzenden Augen fragte sie zurück: „Welche Rolle spielt das denn?“ Ein ähnliches Blitzen war in ihren Augen, als sie dem Publikum, das sich aus Anlass ihres 90. Geburtstags in Montreal versammelt hatte, die Frage stellte: „Und wie viele von Ihnen behandeln Kinder?“ Diese winzige, durch Osteoporose geschrumpfte Frau, starrte alle an, die sich nicht meldeten – und diese verkrochen sich in ihren Sitzen angesichts ihres unverhohlenen Blickes und ihrer immer noch kraftvollen Stimme. Viola Frymann war eine außerordentlich beeindruckende Frau, die ihren 90. Geburtstag übrigens 13 Monate zu früh feierte.
