Abstract
Parmi les différents héritages de l’opéraïsme, la trilogie Empire – Multitude – Commonwealth se singularise par l’articulation entre ontologie sociale et critique du capitalisme qu’y proposent Michael Hardt et Antonio Negri. L’hypothèse directrice de cet article est que cette articulation peut être interprétée comme une actualisation de la problématique des Manuscrits de 1844. Lus dans une perspective post-opéraïste, ces manuscrits se caractérisent en effet moins par leur « humanisme » que par la tentative qu’y accomplit Marx pour critiquer le capitalisme d’un point de vue ontologique. Et lu dans une perspective jeune-marxienne, le post-opéraïsme de Hardt et Negri apparaît comme théorie de la production aliénée des capacités génériques de l’humanité. Dans les deux cas, il s’agit de penser ce qu’est la société en sa configuration capitaliste, de manière à dessiner les contours de ce que serait une société libérée du commandement du capital.
