Les Centres régionaux de services aux bibliothèques publiques (CRSBP) ont remplacé les Bibliothèques centrales de prêts (BCP). Le mandat de cette nouvelle structure régionale est inscrit dans la loi du ministère de la Culture, sanctionnée en décembre 1992. L’article trace le portrait de la situation actuelle, en mettant en relief les principaux moments de l’évolution des bibliothèques affiliées. Il souligne l’importance de poursuivre le développement en améliorant les réseaux de communications entre les partenaires et en augmentant la présence du personnel qualifié dans les organisations régionales et locales.
