Abstract
L’article aborde la maladie d’Alzheimer en s’intéressant au vécu et à la relation au monde de la personne qui en est atteinte. Commençant par une critique de l’approche rationaliste qui, s’attachant à la perte des facultés intellectuelles, occulte et réprime les initiatives du malade pour exister malgré tout dans le monde et avec les autres, l’analyse ouvre sur la mise en évidence d’un « être-au-monde » propre à la vie immédiate et sensible. Le handicap peut alors être caractérisé, non comme fermeture au monde, mais comme confinement au plan sensible de l’expérience. Deux attitudes thérapeutiques s’en dégagent : écouter le sensible, prendre en charge la raison défaillante.
