Abstract
Cet ouvrage témoigne d'une dette intellectuelle envers un historien aux larges horizons : de l'histoire du Brésil à celle de l'expansion portugaise et de l'Atlantique, de l'histoire des échanges culturels franco-brésiliens aux échanges franco-canadiens ou franco-chinois, de l'histoire de l'économie à celle des échanges avec les acteurs de la création et de la diffusion artistiques, tels sont les principaux champs d'investigation de Guy Martinière. Anciens doctorants, collègues et amis qu'il a entraînés dans ses pérégrinations atlantiques (où le Brésil reste toujours le centre de gravité de ses préoccupations intellectuelles) lui offrent ce témoignage amical de reconnaissance.
