Dans le contexte actuel de professionnalisation et de renouvellement important du corps enseignant québécois, il est impératif d’examiner le problème de l’intégration de nouveaux enseignants au sein de l’école. Ce texte aborde ce sujet sous l’angle du rapport aux collègues et de la collaboration professionnelle. Les données utilisées proviennent d’entrevues semi-structurées menées auprès de dix enseignants débutants du secondaire diplômés des programmes de formation implantés en 1994. L’analyse montre que la socialisation et la collaboration se font davantage par catégorie d’âge mais aussi, par degré d’enseignement chez les novices. De plus, la collaboration avec les anciens semble limitée à de simples échanges de services, tandis qu’entre jeunes, elle tend à plus de partage et de discussion sur le plan pédagogique et expérientiel. Enfin, certains facteurs structurels, organisationnels et personnels facilitent le contact entre enseignants et entre les générations, tandis que d’autres contribuent à la rupture intergénérationnelle.
