Abstract
Au cours de la première décennie d’activités d’édition numérique et de numérisation des collections, plusieurs définitions ont marqué l’évolution des systèmes d’information et de publication qui sont désignés comme « bibliothèques numériques » ou « cyberinfrastructures ». Bien qu’une volumétrie précise soit difficile à établir en raison des multiples modes d’évaluation des collections, l’état des lieux des activités de numérisation au Québec est brossé comme point de départ. Par la suite, une réflexion est faite sur les concepts de « bibliothèques et patrimoines numériques ». Finalement, seront posés les enjeux actuels, les responsabilités et les défis du milieu de la documentation et de la société québécoise en général pour la construction du réseau des bibliothèques numériques du Québec.
