Abstract
L’article questionne la pertinence d’un accompagnement de qualité, visant la formation intégrale des étudiants, et son impact éventuel sur leur motivation pour l’apprentissage, dans le contexte de l’Université Saint-Joseph (USJ) de Beyrouth. L’étude s’appuie sur une approche quantitative, en cohérence avec le paradigme positiviste dans lequel elle s’inscrit. Un questionnaire est lancé auprès de 1 530 étudiants, englobant dans l’enquête les cinq campus de l’Université. Par la suite, dans une perspective de compréhension, une approche qualitative basée sur les focus groupes est venue éclairer certains résultats du questionnaire. Au final, l’étude révèle la nécessité d’un accompagnement intégral, à caractère personnel, social et pédagogique, assuré à l’étudiant avec bienveillance, pour favoriser son cheminement volontaire et motivé vers l’apprentissage et vers l’accomplissement de son projet de formation, le lien entre les caractères de « l’accompagnement intégral » des étudiants et leur « motivation pour l’apprentissage » étant souligné à l’issue de l’étude.
