Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Abstract This chapter examines work undertaken with Latino gay men who are at risk of contracting HIV in Canada, recognising that migration away from Latin America may offer an escape from repressive and homophobic environments. The chapter explores the way in which sexualities and social constructions of gender are closely connected and grounded in cultural understandings, where race, masculinity, class and sexual orientation are central to defining an individual’s experiences. The concept of La Pasion is utilised to understand how some gay men may prioritize pleasure over risk and health-related consequences. The complexities of informing decision-making to promote safe sex behaviours are considered in the context of Chicos Net, an HIV prevention program that aims to reduce social isolation, increase social support and reduce risk through the provision of a group programme of education and social activities.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
