Traduction et adaptation transculturelle du Reiss Screen for Maladaptive Behavior.

Abstract
Les personnes presentant un retard mental sont beaucoup plus predisposees a vivre des problemes de sante mentale et des troubles du comportement que la population generale. En depit de ceci, elles ont tendance a etre sous-diagnostiquees par les professionnels qui les servent et ne recoivent pas les services appropries. Aucun instrument francophone n'a ete valide pour aider a depister les problemes de sante mentale chez les adolescents et adultes presentant un retard mental. Cette etude rapporte le processus de traduction, d'adaptation transculturelle et de validation du Reiss Screen for Maladaptive Behavior en francais. Une procedure de traduction par comites a sept etapes a ete suivie. L'instrument traduit a ete rempli par 184 repondants qui ont evalue 494 adolescents et adultes presentant une variete de problemes de sante mentale et de troubles du comportement. Les resultats de l'analyse factorielle confirmatoire indiquent une adequation raisonnable avec le modele propose par Reiss (1988). Les indices de coherence interne pour les huit sous-echelles ont varie entre ,53 et ,83. L'indice de coherence interne pour le score total etait de ,80. La discussion est centree autour des resultats obtenus et de l'utilisation appropriee de cet instrument de depistage.
