Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Monitoring was conducted at OneSteel's Sydney Steel Mill electric arc furnace to study the effect of hot briquetted iron (HBI) upon furnace performance. Results from this study have been previously published by Trotter [1]. These studies were then continued for zero HBI operation to investigate the effects of a new, more reliable coke injection system into the slag and the change from two consumable oxygen pipes to a water‐cooled oxygen lance and the installation of a spray‐cooled roof. The investigations were comprised of an energy balance across the furnace, foaming slag investigations with regard to thermal efficiency and acoustic noise, effect of equipment modifications on the primary fume analysis, harmonic measurement for slag foam indicator, triboelectric system for measuring off‐gas dust loading. Each of these investigations is detailed in this report.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
