Le dépôt légal est le moyen par excellence utilisé par la plupart des bibliothèques nationales pour rassembler l’édition nationale. Après un survol historique, l’auteur définit les objectifs du dépôt légal et décrit les principaux éléments qui le constituent. Il traite ensuite de la révision des lois sur le dépôt légal, qui mobilise actuellement plusieurs administrations, et conclut en ouvrant quelques perspectives.
