Les jeunes dans les écoles de langue anglaise de la région de Montréal et leur rapport à l’identité

Abstract
L’article se penche sur le rapport à l’identité et le sentiment d’appartenance d’un groupe de jeunes qui fréquentent des écoles de langue anglaise dans la région de Montréal. Le cadre sociologique utilisé pour l’analyse voit dans la notion d’identité un construit social complexe et en constante mouvance. L’analyse fera ressortir la complexité des expériences quotidiennes de ces jeunes. D’une étude ethnographique menée auprès de jeunes de deux écoles secondaires de langue anglaise, deux résultats d’analyse seront discutés, soit la présence d’identités linguistiques multiples parmi les jeunes et une lutte de pouvoir fondée sur la langue au Québec qui se manifeste dans la vie des jeunes au quotidien.
