Abstract
L'A. aborde les interferences semantiques entre community/communaute et collectivite, telles qu'elles ressortent de la legislation canadienne, en tout premier lieu la Loi sur le multiculturalisme. Constatant la double dimension du pluralisme culturel au Canada, a savoir celle des peuples autochtones et celle des minorites immigrees recentes, elle cherche a mettre en evidence divers presupposes qui se rattachent a la terminologie en question. De prime abord, la notion de collectivite en tant que categorie servant les besoins de classification juridique semble moins equivoque que le concept de communaute, davantage marque par la problematique identitaire. La question fondamentale reste neanmoins de savoir si la notion de communaute possede une valeur analytique ou normative intrinseque en droit ou si, inversement, l'acception juridique etroite de la notion de collectivite peut echapper a toute instrumentalisation au nom du culturel.
