Abstract
Cet article porte sur le rôle du capital social dans le cadre de la mise en œuvre de stratégies d’adaptation au changement climatique dans le secteur du bâti (habitation humaine) en zone côtière. Nos travaux portent sur deux études de cas situées au Nord (Pigeon Hill et Cap-Bateau) et au Sud (Cocagne et Grande Digue) du Nouveau-Brunswick (Canada). Nous constatons que les mobilisations visant la mise en œuvre de stratégies d'adaptation reposent effectivement sur du capital social tels que des relations de parenté ou des liens associatifs. Cependant, ces mobilisations ont une portée relativement restreinte étant donné que la gouvernance locale reste faiblement développée au Nouveau-Brunswick. Afin d’améliorer la prise en charge au sein des communautés des enjeux du changement climatique, il serait nécessaire de repenser la synergie entre les échelles et les modes d’action.
