Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

This study explores the experiences of women who meet the academic requirements to become leaders in education in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador yet rarely fulfil these roles. Using a narrative inquiry approach, the study found significant gender differences in career goals and identified barriers which prevent female teachers from advancing to leadership positions. While women dominate the teaching profession at all levels they continue to lag behind in the most senior and influential leadership positions. Despite having the qualifications, women are not advancing in their careers. While there have been some gains in middle management, women are still under-represented in top administrative positions. The stories of the women in this study are illustrative of the barriers and challenges that are common among female educators.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
