Abstract
La novela Volkswagen blues del escritor quebequense Jacques Poulin nos propone un recorrido entre la bahía de Gaspé, en el extremo este de Quebec, y la de San Francisco, en Estados Unidos. El móvil del viaje es dar con el paradero de Theo, hermano de Jack, el narrador. Tan fortuito es el arranque en el museo de la Gaspésie como las siguientes etapas que se van definiendo de acuerdo con las pistas imprevistas que Jack descubre del paso de Theo por suelo canadiense y estadounidense. Los lugares visitados remiten a alguna página de la historia de una importante migración quebequense a lo largo de los siglos XIX y XX, de suerte que el viaje resulta ser una reconstrucción identitaria propiciada por lasinsospechadas huellas dejadas por sus antepasados.
