Abstract
How can Foucault distance himself from creating the truth games he was criticizing in his studies of power? Political spirituality, subjectivity and askesis are the themes that helped Foucault to address this question; by elaborating on these themes ethics gain prominence in his later works. Each theme relies on problematization as an exercise of changing the games of truth in a given culture, in one’s context. Foucault serves as an exemplar student of power who in his dialogues examined and transformed his relation to power. His conceptualization of ethics as a relation to oneself demonstrates his emphasis on a subjective power. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
