Abstract

O presente trabalho tem por objetivo analisar o comportamento das vogais médias pretônicas (altas e baixas) e vogais altas no português brasileiro a partir dos inquéritos do Atlas Linguístico do Brasil (ALiB). O corpus constitui-se de dados coletados em entrevistas in loco realizadas em Salvador (BA). A relevância de estudar tal fenômeno se deve à descrição da realidade linguística do português falado brasileiro e, também, à delimitação de áreas dialetais. Assim, o fenômeno em questão será analisado por meio de fatores extralinguísticos como, por exemplo, a faixa etária, o sexo e a escolaridade, aplicando a metodologia de análise de dados quantitativos da variação linguística com dados fonéticofonológicos.
