Abstract
No mundo contemporânea as questoes eticas atravessam todas as areas da vida social e do saber. O desafio posto aos assistentes sociais no actual estadio societario, onde as expressoes da questao social assumem caracter critico e expoem a humanidade a condicoes degradantes de existencia, e o seu projecto etico-politica que posiciona o profissional a repensar o seu fazer, numa perspectica critica, que contemple as contradicoes presentes nas suas relacoes sociais e leal a os principios e valores que nortearam a profissao desde a sua genese, sao o mote deste artigo. Sendo uma profissao eminentemente etica por lidar com os mais agudos problemas humanos, ha questionamentos que se colocam aos assistentes sociais, numa epoca onde surgem novos enquadramentos das politicas sociais e se poem em causa direitos adquiridos. In today's world the ethical issues cross all areas of social life and knowledge. The challenge to social workers at the present stage of society, where the expression of social issues assume a critical nature and expose humanity to degrading conditions of existence and the ethical-political project which position professionals to rethink what to do in a critical perspective that contemplates the contraction in their social relationships and the loyalty to the principles and values that guided the profession since its genesis, are the theme of this article. As a highly ethical profession by dealing with the most acute human problems, there are questions facing social workers, at a time when there are new social policy frameworks and undermine rights.
