Abstract
Ce texte tient lieu d’introduction à un manuscrit portant sur cinquante-deux versions d’un récit indien recueillies entre 1637 et 1978, sur un vaste territoire s’étendant du Labrador aux Territoires du Nord-Ouest et au Montana. Plutôt que de faire table rase de tout ce qui fut écrit au sujet de ce récit en particulier, et de la mythologie en général, pour ensuite peut-être déclarer forfait, l’ouvrage en question vise à permettre à ce savoir de se dilater au-delà des contraintes inhérentes à sa propre instauration.
