Abstract
Depuis Max Weber jusqu'a l'Ecole dite de Leyde, les recherches anthropologiques ont mis en evidence un certain nombre de constantes politiques, sociologiques, economiques et ideologiques qui caracterisent les Etats dits primitifs ou archaiques ; plus recemment, certains travaux en histoire ancienne et en archeologie ont adopte ce modele hermeneutique. Or la plupart des traits ainsi reveles apparaissent dans le film Le Roi Lion des studios Walt Disney. L'analyse montrera ainsi que les representations ideologiques de la royaute et la realite du pouvoir sur les etres et sur le territoire ne doivent rien au hasard, et qu'elles participent d'une vision pre-moderne de l'Etat.
