Abstract
Crimes in the sphere of legalizing profits obtained in a criminal way are among the most dangerous economic crimes. For the first time the Russian legislation introduced certain norms relating to this category of crimes only in 1996. However, present day criminal legislation in the sphere of control of money laundering and other criminal profits greatly lags behind and does not conform with international legal acts and positive provisions of foreign states legislation that negatively effects the efficiency of combating this category of crime.
