Abstract
Les États européens pratiquent des politiques très diverses en matière de prostitution, allant de la légalisation à la prohibition. Le canton de Genève pratique un modèle de régulation intéressant. L’objectif ici est de le présenter, d’abord en donnant quelques indications sur l’état du marché de la prostitution et du sexe, puis en rappelant les éléments contextuels juridiques et enfin, en illustrant les facteurs de risques liés à l’approvisionnement, au fonctionnement et aux transformations de ce marché. À la lumière de la situation genevoise, la dernière partie reprend la discussion autour de la légalisation et de la répression, en mettant l’accent sur la nécessité de rendre plus visibles les phénomènes de traite et de trafic des êtres humains dans le but d’apporter une réponse (plus) adéquate. Les auteurs penchent en faveur d’une régulation pragmatique qui prend en compte la diversité des situations des personnes actives sur le marché de la prostitution et du sexe.
