Abstract

Cet article présente les résultats d’une analyse par théorisation ancrée de 55 vlogues produits par des adolescents franco-québécois pour dénoncer l’intimidation et diffusés sur YouTube entre 2010 et 2014. Il vise à clarifier le concept d’engagement civique des jeunes en ligne à partir d’une démarche méthodologique originale qui s’appuie sur la sociosémiotique de Gunther Kress. Les résultats montrent que chaque vlogue s’inscrit dans une chaîne d’invites et de réponses, produisant ainsi un espace social sémiotique par et pour les jeunes. Dans cet espace, l’engagement prend la forme d’une participation civique discursive qui est accomplie grâce au travail sémiotique des vlogueurs.
