Introdução: Aasfixia neonatal ainda é uma patologia que contribui grandemente para amortalidade perinatal e neonatal e é responsável por graves sequelas querepresentam um ônus significativo para a família, a sociedade e o país. Descrição do Relato de Caso: Serãoapresentados oito casos de neonatos que sofreram asfixia neonatal que foramsubmetidos ao protocolo de hipotermia terapêutica nas primeiras horas de vida.Foi realizado exame de Triagem Neuromotora Neonatal previamente a altahospitalar, e posteriormente, no ambulatório de seguimento, com um ano de vida,sendo aplicado a Alberta Infant MotorScale. Resultados: Participaram8 bebês a termos, na avaliação de Triagem Neuromotora Neonatal, 6 bebêsapresentaram normotonia, um bebê hipertonia e um bebê hipotonia. Na avaliaçãoambulatorial, realizada com os mesmos bebês apresentando um ano de vida.Daqueles 6 bebês que apresentaram normotonia, 4 bebês apresentaramdesenvolvimento motor normal para idade e 2 bebês apresentaram desenvolvimentomotor anormal. Um bebê que apresentou hipotonia na primeira avaliação, tevedesenvolvimento anormal na avaliação com um ano de vida. E um bebê apresentouhipertonia na avaliação inicial, não realizou seguimento no ambulatório. Conclusão: Através destes resultadospôde-se observar que, mesmo os bebês que inicialmente apresentaram escoresdentro da normalidade, podem apresentar atraso no seu desenvolvimento motor aolongo do primeiro ano de vida, bem como aquele que já apresentava alteração detônus na avaliação pré alta, permaneceu com um desenvolvimento inadequado paraa idade. Sugerimos a realização de mais estudos com um número maior departicipantes para obter resultados mais conclusivos.
